Today we're packing up to leave Inle Lake which breaks my heart. I love this place. But, we've got to move on to Mandalay. I could have stayed here at least a week. The lake changes all day long - a never ending display of light, shadows, one-legged rowers, undulating lily pads. The food at our resort has been splendid...banana blossom salads, pomelo in abundance and tea leaf salads. Tomatoes abound as they are grown hydroponically in floating gardens all over the lake.
Monks are chanting here at the resort today. It's still Bhuddist lent and during this time the monks read the holy scripts for teaching purposes. A big grey cat jumps from lap to lap, soaking up all the love and affection it can handle. The lovely staff people walk by and give us a smile from time to time. Butterflies abound in the garden and orchids hang from the trees. It's like heaven here.
It must be wonderful if it breaks your heart to leave!

Sounds delightful. The food must be delicious. Especially the tomatoes. How do they serve them?
