Ramadan is in progress. We went to the Jeme mosque for the prayers at sundown which break the fast. On the way we walked by shops where food was being prepared and ready to go. In the mosque a man was wheeling big carts of food into the hall and handing out plastic bags of bread, parsley and white cheese. He gave us each one bag, enough to feed three, and we enjoyed a kind of picnic out on the square.
Everyone was thirsty after a long day without food or water. Not us...we're being fed and watered all day, although we eat in hotels, which are allowed to serve food. No eating or drinking outdoors during the day.
