Japanese Food Homework

Stan Sesser photography

I continue to do homework about what to eat in Japan and have spent several happy hours meandering through photographs of stunning plate presentations. Honestly, I couldn't think of
eating most of them. They are too refined and elegant to end up digested. This box combines the super-refined aesthetic of Japanese flower arranging, expert knife skills and a wonderful eye for color - if it turned out to be pleasing on the palate, what a bonus that would be!

From the sublime to the silly. Onigiri is on my list of foods to try. At a dollar each, these should be called budget balancing balls. I love the pirate at the back!

  1. Yes, the first photo is really pretty. But what exactly are you eating? Is it just the soup?
The pirate is hilarious. I wouldn't want to eat him. He's way too cute.
