Breakfast table this morning...far from our usual thing. Our brother-in-law gave us some silver at the weekend and it reminded us to USE THIS STUFF while we still can; before we're sucking up our nutrition through a plastic straw or a senior sippy cup. There's something satisfying about eating from plates and using forks that are older than we are. The big catch is the clean up - twenty minutes to hand wash everything and put it away....maybe we could manage to do this once a month?
Such a nice concept. But it already takes me too long to throw away my paper plate and plastic forks.

P.S. I love your poem on Robert's blog. The number of your talents continue to amaze me! I'm proud to have you as a friend.
I agree with @Barbara and Nancy and I bet you won't make it.
ReplyDeletePersonally I made my choice: since the last move I haven't opened the boxes with the silverware anymore.
I can't tell you how many silver spoons i have let slip down my garbage disposal only to hear that awful metal on metal noise. I have a perfectly nice collection of chewed around the edges spoons. I just can't allow myself to use the good silver anymore!

So pretty! It's worth the pain of washing them to be able to look at a pretty table with pretty food.
