Sepia Saturday 362: Trios

Three is a magic number as the song goes. My photo of three Ghanaian boys is one of the best I have in my collection. Originally in color, I applied a sepia treatment in honor of Sepia Saturday. Once I started looking for trios in photos, it's surprising how many I found.

Ghana - three beautiful girls

And above (because I can't get blogger to cooperate and let me insert comment this above the photo, grrr) to balance the three boys, here are three beautiful girls. Also Ghanaians.

Another of my favorites, I used this photo on my mother's memorial card. She loved the beach....we all did.

And the worst "trio" photo I found: me, Jack and mom. Oops, it really isn't a trio because of the donkey in the foreground, being forced to smile with the two Jenny-asses and the other Jack-ass. Doesn't this photo embody the year, 1967? The big Go-Go sign adds a soupcon of "je ne sais quoi" to the whole scene.  We might have thought twice about posing for this scene if we'd guessed it would survive for fifty years and be publicly displayed. As the only survivor of the tableau, I'll have only me, myself and I (another trio) to blame for immortalizing our bad taste. I hope the other three will forgive me.

  2. The first three photographs are wonderful, especially the one you used on your mother's memorial card.

  3. Love the similar poses in the beach photo. The Tijuana photo is a fun memento - much better than bringing home one of those sombreros. Several years ago we were house hunting and in one that we looked at, the owners placed 2 jeweled-heavily embroidered sombreros on their bed pillows. I could hardly see the house for the sombreros.

    1. We still see the odd HUGE sombrero at a garage sale. Thankfully I think most of them have gone!

  4. LOVE the beach shot! The Tijuana picture is pretty funny -- look at the gigantic pocketbook your mother's lugging around...now THAT'S the 60s!

  5. The beach trio is a lovely photo. I can see why you would want to use it on the memorial card.

  6. Excellent shots of trios...and adding a bit of sepia has occurred to me, but I've not yet bothered.

  7. These were all great choices for the threes theme. Your father was like mine for taking unusual shots I think, and it paid off with the beach picture.
