Sepia Saturday 2. How times have changed

Working in the food business and having been on the dark side a number of times: working for the California Egg Commission at the height of the cholesterol controversy and for Lawry's when sodium was the killer du jour, I find this poster particularly funny. At least, I never worked for the Lard Information Council!

  1. How great to see you here on Sepia Saturday.
This poster is great. I'll bet you have lots more stories from your "food background".

  2. O.K., well I feel pretty good right now, but if I'm feeling sad tomorrow, I will know to reach for the lard.

  4. Fabulous poster. In fact I have seen a copy of it before, many many years ago. Thanks so much for reminding me of it again. If nothing else it reminds us of the changing fashions in the food industry. I wonder what food fads of today we will look back on in fifty years time and cguckle over?

  5. I can see this being a catch phrase around our house. Funny.

  6. I do remember taking a nutrition class (in the 90s) and learning that lard was better for you than margarine. (At least it's not trans-fat!)
